A man and a penguin

Drinking his coffee a police officer watches a man walking down the block with a leashed penguin. He goes outside to confront the offender.

"Take that penguin to the zoo or you're going to jail"

"We are on the way now"

Uninterested in the penguin ruining his car, he let the man go on his way.

The next day the man walked by with no penguin. Baffled, he confronted him again.

"Where's the penguin I thought I told you to take him to the zoo?

"I did."

"Well then where the hell is he now?"

"Still there protesting with the other animals."
